Role Summary
The Engineering Coordinator role is to ensure support and organization to the Engineering department so that the department can meet their objectives and can accomplish business tasks. This includes receiving, prioritizing, documenting, and actively completing all customer requests both internally and externally. Including to ensure that all customer requirements are well received and understand by P&F from quotation to production to continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities• Responsible for preparing or modifying engineering data.
• Evaluate engineering data for accuracy and recognize anomalies.
• Modify drawings, and incorporate changes.
• Effectively communicate with Project team, refer questions/problems to staff.
• Assisting with Ergonomic assessment and database administration.
• Prior experience using AutoCAD (or other related programs), and drafting experience
• Able to use 2D and 3D CAD tools (Auto CAD / UGS NX11 / Catia V5)
• Maintains Cad Library and loads into PLM system
• Creates and Maintains BOM for existing products, and products during the quoting pre-production award stages
• Responsible in leading Cross-functional teams to complete PFMEA's, Process Flows, Standardized Work documentation (TWI), and RPN Reductions
• Maintain AutoDCP System (FMEA Control Plans) and chair document alignment within the system
• Creation Maintenance of Bills of Material, Engineering drawings & specifications
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form, and able to communicate in the same.
• Lead Ergonomics Committee to complete ERA's on Equipment Projects
• Provide support to Engineering Manager as well as their teams.
• Update and distribute Key Measurable Indicators for department.
• Assist in maintaining and updating all Program Commercial Information.
• Assist in the preparation of presentations and the materials.
• Prepare and distribute minutes from departmental meetings.
• Continually develop solid technical skills that will allow advancement and your own personal career development within our dynamic team.
• Develops design drawings and related specifications of mechanical equipment, according to engineering sketches and design proposal specifications.
• Analyzes engineering sketches, specifications, and related data and drawings to determine design factors, such as size, shape, and arrangement of parts. Sketches rough layout of machine and computes angles, weights, surface areas, dimensions, radii, clearances, tolerances, leverages, and locations of holes.
• Measure machine and parts during production to ensure compliance with design specifications using engineering data and standard references.
• Provides statistical reports and data on the engineering project to carefully document the process
• Mechanical Advanced Engineering Diploma
• Successful Completion of Grade 12
• Auto CAD / UGS NX11 / Catia V5 Experience
• Minimum of 5 years experience in manufacturing environment preferably automotive
• In past role created APQP documents (EFMEA, PFMEA or DFMEA, Control Plans, Process flows, EBOM's)
• Hands on Drawing experience
• Experience in automotive manufacturing
• Technical/User knowledge of MS Office, MS Outlook, Internet Explorer, Network Printing, MS Project.
• Documentation & good organizational skills
• Knowledge of APQP procedures, ISO-14001, IATF16949
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal and problem solving skills.
• Quality Control knowledge an asset.
